Infrastructure facilities for Cruise vessels at
Tuticorin Port

i) A brand new passenger Terminal has been established in the Port with the following facilities:
a) Seating arrangements for 300 passengers.
b) Separate enclosure for arriving / departing passengers.
c) Separate enclosure for Customs Department, Immigration Department, Cafeteria, Money changing facilities, Duty Free shop etc.
ii) Two X-ray machines for screening of baggages have been erected, one by the Port and another by Customs Department.
iii) Customs and Immigration Departments have sanctioned adequate posts exclusively for manning the Terminal with CISF looking after security.
A berth has been identified for handling Passenger vessels and if larger vessels call at the Port, the newly constructed berth with 345.5 mts length and 10.7 mts draft will be made available to the Cruise vessels, with adequate back up area for setting up temporary shopping arcades and holding of cultural events.
